Join the Ka-Hon Ensemble as they celebrate the release of their debut album, A Musical Journey Around the World. Young children, families, and the entire community will enjoy this magical musical evening. Featuring Omar Ledezma Jr., Braulio Barrera, Jose Roberto Hernandez, Pedro Rosales and Javier Cabanillas plus special guest David Pinto.
The Ka-Hon Ensemble shares the various types of rhythms from around the world that can be played with a simple wooden box (Cajon). Fusing traditional rhythms from Peru, Mexico, Cuba and Venezuela, through percussion and song, Ka-Hon creates a highly interactive performance experience. Ka-Hon was conceived by Venezuelan singer and percussionist Omar Ledezma Jr. in 2012, and unites the talents of percussionists Braulio Barrera (Peru), Pedro Rosales (Peru), Jose Roberto Hernandez (Mexico), and Javier Cabanillas (Mexico). They performed to great acclaim for the 2013 season of the San Francisco Symphony’s Adventures in Music (AIM) reaching over 25,000 students and was published in a review for the San Francisco Chronicle Newspaper.

Special guest, David Pinto is a world class Peruvian bassist, best-known for his work as music director, arranger, and bassist for Grammy-Winner Susana Baca, and also faculty at the Jazzschool in Berkeley.
