The California Jazz Conservatory offers students:
Founded in 2009, the California Jazz Conservatory (CJC) is the only private music conservatory in the country devoted solely to the study and performance of the African American art form, jazz, and related styles of music.
CJC offers instrumentalists and vocalists a Bachelor of Music degree in Jazz Studies; Associate of Arts degree in Jazz Studies; and a Master’s Degree for the 21st Century Jazz Composer-Performer.

The CJC campus is located in two buildings on Addison Street in the heart of the Downtown Berkeley Arts District with many arts and performance venues nearby. Public transit, located within a block of CJC, offers easy access to the San Francisco Bay Area arts, entertainment, cultural, and performance offerings.
The Jazzschool at CJC (the Conservatory’s community music school) offers classes and workshops for instrumentalists (piano & keyboard, guitar, bass, drums & percussion, saxophone, brass) and for vocalists, focusing on theory, performance, musicianship, improvisation, composition, history, culture, aesthetics, and the music business. The Jazzschool at CJC also offers a Young Musicians Program with classes and workshops for beginning, intermediate and advanced young musicians.
