A wide-ranging hands-on percussion class covering both Afro-Cuban (salsa) rhythms (on conga, bongo, timbales, etc.) and Afro-Peruvian and Spanish rhythms (on the box drum known as the cajón). This class includes lots of playing time, tips for developing an authentic sound and feel and essential historical and cultural information. All instruments are provided for in-class use.
