The Jazzschool Young Musicians Program (YMP) has been at the center of our educational and artistic efforts since our inception in 1997.
YMP is a year-round, comprehensive music education and performance program designed for beginning, intermediate and advanced middle and high school instrumentalists and vocalists between the ages of 11 and 18. YMP students are provided with the opportunity to work with professional jazz artists and educators, strengthening performance skills, expanding knowledge of jazz theory and improvisation, and learning more about the foundations of jazz and related styles of music.
Classes and Workshops focus on instrumental and vocal techniques, theory, improvisation, style, repertoire, composition, music production and more.
