Focus on an array of creative jazz singing skills including developing a unique repertoire, communicating with the rhythm section and creating arrangements on the spot. Study phrasing, improvisation, interpretation and work on developing a personal sound. Rhythm section provided. You are welcome to bring in songs of your choice, write original lyrics or use material provided by the instructor. Prerequisites: consent of instructor — telephone consultation required. Student of Joe Henderson, Mark Murphy; Professor, Vocal Jazz Studies, KUG U., Graz, Austria; International performing and recording artist with releases on Nabel Records, Germany; Yamaha Records, Japan, Origin Records, USA and owner of Intrinsic Music Records Co. Clinician, adjudicator, curriculum development for CJC Vocal Program; Co-teaches yearly vocal intensive with Theo Bleckmann. Performed and/or recorded with George Cables, Bobby McFerrin, Richie Beirach, Pony Poindexter, Joe Henderson, Sheila Jordan,Mark Murphy; bandleader of Foreign Affair Band and The American Dreams Band.
