Mary D’Orazi
Director of Concert Programming Development Associate
Mary has been employed at the California Jazz Conservatory since 2013. She spent many years as a retail entrepreneur in Berkeley before turning her focus to jazz and the nonprofit sector. She was Program Manager for Rhythmic Concepts, Inc. (now Living Jazz), an independent producer of “Jazz at the Chimes” concert series in Oakland, and Managing Director of the Oakland Jazz Choir. Mary took piano lessons as a child, and has focused her musical endeavors as a vocalist, mainly singing Brazilian jazz and jazz. In 2016, she released “To Brasil & Bacharach” with Brazilian pianist/arranger Marcos Silva. Mary loves to spend time in quieter places, with trees, birds and breezes and in her kitchen, doing what her Italian mamma taught her.
