Ella Fitzgerald is the focus in this course of songs from the Great American Songbook, studying specific versions of studio and live recordings by the great songstress. Singers will focus on phrasing, interpretation, performance, and incorporate basic improvisation while developing a repertoire of 2-3 songs through personal selections and teacher recommendations. The instructor and accompanist will help students find the right key for the selected tunes.
