There is a Message in the Music

During this seven-week course, participants receive one song per week representing the history, culture and daily celebration and struggles of African American life. Songs by Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Curtis Mayfield, Bill Withers, Sly Stone and others are introduced to be sung both as a group and individually. Historical and biographical information about the composers is also presented for discussion. Musicians at all levels will enjoy the opportunity to sing music that stirs the soul and tells a story. Open to all!
